When I was in the sixth grade I had just moved to a new school and didn't know anybody. I hated recess because I spent most of the time alone. I soon figured out that if I didn't do my home work I would be kept in time-out during recess. I stayed in time-out for the rest of the school year. I wish my teacher had gotten to know me well enough to see what was going on. I'm thankful for that teacher though she taught me exactly how not to treat my class. I teach younger kids so if I have a loner I make it a point to spend some of recess time with them. I'm sure this would be embarrassing to older kids, but my little guys love it.
